Ushering in the Second Golden Age of Shitposting (and how you can help)
A couple of days ago I shared my blog to Reddit as I've done a million times before. I didn't expect much, really, I usually just get a few comments calling me a loser. But this time the response was overwhelmingly positive.
In just 24 hours my website had over 3000 visitors, from Taiwan to India to Germany to Brazil, and the numbers don't lie: people were reading my stuff, many for hours.
My blog has been inactive for several months: churning out viral shitposts is hard, especially when you're banned from Reddit. But the enthusiasm expressed for my content has inspired me to keep writing, to keep trying to build a community that finds humor in the same things that I do.
More content is coming, I can promise that. I have a VPN now, and a new apartment with my girlfriend that has already provided me with tons of inspiration for new content.
In the meantime, here's what you can do to support the blog:
Tell your friends. Nothing is more powerful than word of mouth. So if you've been enjoying my content, please drop a link in your group chat or any online communities you might be apart of.
Sign up for my mailing list. This is the single most important thing you can do. A mailing list is the key for any writer: having a community of contacts all in one place will allow the blog to grow and will also allow me to provide updates about any new blogs. And don't worry, I won't spam. You can find the sign up box at the bottom of this page.
Follow me on Twitter. Twitter is an absolute cesspool but a social media is must for any successful online brand. So please consider giving me a follow @shitpostdiaries.
Subscribe to the Shitpost Diaries subreddit. I have started to regularly update the subreddit, including crossposting some older roll attempts that haven't made it to the blog. It's also a great forum to come chat and engage with the community, and to receive updates on coming material!
I want to extend my sincere thanks to anyone who has read in the past few days. Yes, maybe I am just an internet troll. But I believe that giving people something to read and laugh at is fulfilling and meaningful work, especially in these dark times.
So please join my community, and stay tuned.
